September 6-17, 2010

WOW, I know I'm awful at keeping this blog up, I vow to get better :) Its been a BUSY couple of weeks, on top of being back at school, basketball starting, both Aiden and I are getting over colds. :( Needless to say he is a better sick patient than I am. His sleeping and eating schedule may have changed a bit, but he still toughed through it (and he got to sleep in Mommy and Daddy's bed a few night- yes I made Ryan cave into the idea)
Aiden is now fully crawling, has THREE teeth, attended two Chicago sporting events, celebrated birthday's and has even been able to spend some time with his Aunties from out of town.
Let's see over Labor day weekend we went to Ella's first birthday party, who looked absolutely adorable in her little pink tutu. After the birthday party, we had my parents, Jes/ Justin and Ryan's family over for a little BBQ with Ryan's special ribs. Lindsay and John were in from London for their last trip to the States before the baby is born.

On Tuesday(after work), Ryan/Aiden/I went over to my parents house to celebrate my Dad's birthday. We had flank steak, twice baked potato casserole, green beans, and a delicious salad. We sat outside,  enjoyed the beautiful weather, while Aiden took a nap on G-Mac's chest. When the sun went down we went inside to sing happy birthday, open presents, enjoyed a poppyseed cake (yummy), and Aiden serenaded us all with his piano playing skills... Note I think this also might be the last time Aiden took his pacifier. (my dad hated that thing, he said it was for babies... great birthday present Aiden)

Wednesday was my friend Laurie's birthday so we treated her to a Portillos lunch. Of course for dessert we got a Portillo's Chocolate cake (bye bye diet...) Aiden spent the day with his Daddy. Together they went to the Naperville Police Department so Ryan could get fingerprinted for his new job... Of course all the ladies wanted to hold him.Aiden spiked a fever Wednesday night, so it was s good thing Ryan was off to take care of him during the day. He was just not his normal self. He was kinda crabby and I thought the fever was related to him getting another tooth, but I guess I was wrong.

Friday, Aiden went to the sitter during the day while Ryan and I were at work. She said he was pretty happy most of the day but really wasn't hungry and WOULD NOT let her put him down to take a nap. Friday night, Aiden went to his 1st baseball game, at US Cellular Field (yes Ryan was pretty bummed to be sharing this milestone with his not so favorite baseball team, but he still enjoyed the game. Aiden stayed awake the entire game cheering them on to victory (still waiting for pictures from my mom) and then even stayed awake for the Fireworks show.

Saturday, Ryan went to work, and Aiden and I went to watch the Brooks Girls Softball Team Regional Final. Unfortunately the girls could not pull out a win, but it was a nice afternoon out of the house for us :), plus the car was the only place Aiden really wanted to nap. For dinner Ryan and I got TGIF to go,
so that Ryan could finish making his chicken wings for the Bears Game on Sunday...

That's right Aiden went to his first Bears Game on Sunday September 12th (home opener). He participated in the whole nine yards too. He tailgated in the bed of Ryan's truck with all his toys, pregamed with his oatmeal/ bananas and bottle to wash it down, walked, got searched to enter, got a car flag, watched the warm-ups, listened to the national anthem, enjoyed the fly over, and cheered the BEARS on to victory. We all were VERY hot through the entire game, and even came home with a little sun burn (not Aiden, he had plenty of sunblock on). The only time he napped was during halftime.  Aiden also got to taste a pretzel and had his 1st sips of water... (probably 2-3oz)

On the way home Aiden enjoyed the wind in his hair from the windows being down and entertaining Mommy and Glamma by eating his indestructible book (Such a cool idea for a book, and his friend Jack is a model for the company- http://indestructiblesinc.blogspot.com/2010/09/reading-demonstration-indestructibles.html). For dinner Jes and Justin joined us at my parents and we all consumed a Famous Dave's platter. I can't believe I have to work all week... These busy weekends make me still feel like summer should be here.

The week was extremly busy too. Aiden's top right tooth came in on Monday. I saw it under the gums over the weekend, but my mom found it popped through on Monday. Ryan started his new job (maintenance for a school in Naperville), I had two basketball games (we are 1-1), curriculum night, and still Aiden and I have our colds (Aiden's is almost gone and I think mine progressed into a sinus infection). Aiden spent two days with my mom this week, two days with the sitter, and Auntie Abby (who was in for the DMB concert) watched him on Friday. He had a wonderful time with everyone. On Tuesday, Jes picked him up from the sitters and the two of them came to my first home basketball game. The girls loved seeing him and he immediately tried to grab the basketball from me. Thursday, Ryan's mom picked him up from the sitter, since I had to stay late for curriculum night. Together they went to see Gramps (who is still recovering from the knee replacement surgery). Then they came back to our house where Auntie Lindsay came over to see him and help with the nightly routine. She enjoyed watching him couch walk and was amazed at how fast he is crawling now... (especially seeing she just saw him two weeks ago, and he was only creeping) Ryan and I are SOOO GRATEFUL for our family and all the things they have done for us.
