Saturday was the first free day we have had in a LONG time, so the plan was to maybe visit one of the local pumpkin patches... When I woke up, it was raining and I was for sure the pumpkin patch would have to wait until next year, however it stopped raining and we made a last minute decision to go. It turned out to be a perfect fall day.
We went to Heap's Giant Pumpkin Farm in Minooka, IL. Aiden napped during the ten minute drive to the farm, but once we were there he throughly enjoyed himself. He saw a baby cow, pigs, donkey, bull, and of course chickens. He loved looking at the animals, but his favorite animal there was the farm dog named Lucy. Anytime you say the word dog to Aiden, his face lights up and he starts laughing in excitement. Aiden and I played in the corn barrels, while Ryan tooks pictures from outside. (He didn't want to take his boots off) After the corn barrels we went on a hayride out to the pumpkin patch where Aiden picked out his first baby pumpkin. It was so muddy that Ryan and I had to carry him the entire time. (go figure we havent had rain in like 60 days, but the day we want to go there is a monsoon in the morning) We then walked through the corn maze. Ryan hid inside the stalks after one of the turns and jumped out and scared Aiden and I (I think Aiden peed himself, since he almost jumped right out of my arms) I'm soo glad the day turned out like it did, because the farm was not crowded AT ALL, which meant we had basically everything to our selves. (no waiting in lines to take pictures, especially since we are obsessed)
When we got home, Ryan and I did some yardwork, while Aiden sat in the grass and watched. He still hasn't figured out that grass is the same as the floor and he can crawl. I think he might be confused by the different texture :)
Glam-ma and G-Mac came over for pizza in the evening (which Aiden loved) and to pick up some furniture that we were getting rid of. Aiden loved playing with all his toys and showing them his pictures from the day. Tomorrow will be a busy day, since I saved all the errands and cleaning! :)
