July 31, 2011- FAMILY OF FOUR

At 3:14am Ryan and I welcomed our second son Carter Patrick into the world. I started my labor at about 4pm with some very minor contractions and then those increased to what I wasn't making a big deal out of, but Ryan insisted we go to the hospital. Granny came over to watch Aiden and I quickly took a shower (40 minutes- thats quick right?) I'm pretty sure Aiden knew something was going on, because he DID NOT want anything to do with his normal nightly routine.
We arrived at Edwards at about 11:40pm and were admitted right away since I was already at a 5, the babys head was low, and I was definitely more uncomfortable then when we left the house. I received my epidural almost as fast I got into the L&D room. My parents came at about 12:30ish (having to leave the Feylo/MacDonald Wedding early) and Jes arrived shortly after. The three of them and Ryan started making their guesses and my mom was the only one to guess a boy. When my doctor came at 1:45am he checked my (I was now an 8) and broke my water to continue moving the labor along. Next thing I knew it was 2:22am (my moms guess at time) and the nurse told me I was going to start to push... Before I knew it a beautiful little boy entered the world and WE WERE A FAMILY OF FOUR (plus one wonderful four legged big brother)!!!

These last 24 hours have been so full of wonderful emotions for me. I am just beyond myself right now, I really can't explain my feelings of joy. Granny brought Aiden to meet his little brother and Aiden immediately wanted to pet and kiss Carter. I am not sure he really understands that he is ours to keep, but then again thats ok, he'll be fine :)
